Basic Coding Vocabulary
Core words that make beginner lessons easier to follow and far less intimidating.
Before students build projects, they need words for what they are seeing. Vocabulary lowers friction because the lesson stops sounding like a foreign language.
Start with the most useful terms
Words like code, program, syntax, bug, and editor appear constantly. Once those terms feel familiar, later lessons become much easier to read.
You do not need perfect memorization
Learning vocabulary is not about cramming definitions. It is about building recognition so the next lesson feels readable instead of overwhelming.
Use the glossary actively
When a term feels fuzzy, pause and check the glossary. Strong beginners do that often. It is part of learning, not a sign that something is wrong.
